Scientific Research Committee - Mission Statement: The Scientific Research Committee will identify and support scientific, veterinary and educational projects that contribute to further understanding of diseases, genetic anomalies and injuries that affect Flushing Spaniels and Cocker Spaniels in particular. In support of its mission the committee will:

  • Develop a general plan outlining the areas and approaches the committee will take to advance its mission, and present that plan to the Executive Committee of the Foundation.
  • Develop a budget outline in support of the committee's activities for approval by the Executive Committee of the Foundation.
  • Report periodically to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors regarding its activities and initiatives to advance the mission of the committee.
  • Work in close partnership with the Chair of the Grant Committee in selection and analysis of potential areas that may receive the support of the Foundation.
  • Ensure any supported projects are in concert and present no conflict to the Foundations tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Finance Committee - Mission Statement: As the financial management arm of the ASC Foundation the Finance Committee will ensure the proper administration and management of Foundation funds and the proper accounting of revenues and disbursements in accordance with the IRS Guidelines for 501(c)(3) non-profit publicly supported organizations. In support of this mission the Finance Committee will:

  • Operate in partnership with the ASC Foundation Treasurer to establish appropriate bank accounts, flow of funds and audit controls.
  • Develop and publish periodic financial reports for interested parties to ensure proper accounting for Foundation revenues and disbursements.
  • Report periodically to the Executive Committee and the Foundation Board of Directors on the financial well being and status of the ASC Foundation, Inc.

Public Education/General Welfare Committee - Mission Statement: The Public Education/General Welfare Committee will promote public information, knowledge, history and general understanding and develop and provide information concerning the health, welfare, breeding and training of Flushing Spaniels and Cocker Spaniels in particular. In support of its mission the Committee will:

  • Develop a general plan outlining the areas and approaches the committee will take to advance its mission, and present that plan to the Executive Committee of the Foundation.
  • Develop a budget outline in support of the committee's activities for approval by the Executive Committee of the Foundation.
  • Report periodically to the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors regarding its activities and initiatives to advance the mission of the committee.

Grant Committee - Mission Statement: As the disbursement of funds group of the ASC Foundation the Grant Committee will analyze and recommend grants in support of the objectives and purposes of the Foundation as detailed within the Statement of Purpose and Article II, Section 3 of the Foundation Bylaws. In support of this mission the Grant Committee will:

  • Establish grant procedures and applications for grants to be followed by those requesting Foundation moneys.
  • Analyze and recommend appropriate grants to deserving individuals or organizations in furtherance of the objectives of the Foundation.
  • Report periodically to the Executive Committee on activities of the committee and progress and recommend appropriate grants for consideration by the Executive Committee for formal recommendation to the ASC Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Ensure any supported projects are in concert and present no conflict to the Foundations tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Fund Raising Committee - Mission Statement: As the revenue generating arm of the ASC Foundation the Fund Raising Committee will support and promote the objectives of the Foundation by designing and implementing fund raising initiatives and projects throughout the country. In support of this mission the Fund Raising Committee will:

  • Design and implement a three-year funding program and recommended budget in support of the three-year plan.
  • Establish committee members as necessary in the judgment of the Fund Raising Chair to support and implement the three-year plan as designed.
  • Report periodically to the Executive Committee on activities of the committee and progress and compliance to the three-year plan as submitted and approved by the Executive Committee.
Recommend to the Finance Committee appropriate funding accounts to properly identify and allocate differing purposes of revenues and donations generated by the Fund Raising Committee in support of the overall ASC Foundations mission.
